Everoze advises on Gridserve’s first electric forecourt development using ultra-rapid chargers, battery storage & solar PV

Everoze was delighted to provide due diligence services to GRIDSERVE for the construction financing for their first Electric Forecourt^® development in Braintree, Essex, comprising super-fast, reliable charging for up to 36 cars at the same time (12 x 350/175kW, 12 x 90 kW DC chargers, 6 x 22kW AC chargers, and 6 x Tesla Superchargers), a 5MW/6MWh battery storage system and 200kWp of roof-top solar PV. This pioneering project, built during COVID lockdown, provides state-of-the-art charging facilities at the same time as delivering an awesome customer experience using ultra-rapid chargers and a combination of battery storage and solar PV.

Everoze undertook comprehensive technical due diligence review using the industry leading LiveDiligence platform. The scope of work included review of the technology (hardware and software), construction contracts and warranties, aggregator agreements, planning, grid and the financial model. Our flexible approach helped support this pioneering transaction.

The project was constructed during 2020 and formally opened in December 2020.
