Supporting bankability for a 165 MWp solar PV project in Poland

Everoze supported the financing of Project Lion, a large-scale ground-mounted solar PV project developed by OX2 in Krzepielów, Western Poland, with a total capacity of approximately 165 MWp.

The lenders needed robust pre-construction diligence to support debt financing, with an independent view of the technical risks that could affect delivery, performance and long-term revenues before financial close.

Everoze was appointed as Lender’s Technical Advisor for NORD/LB and CaixaBank. Our role was to review the project’s key technical, commercial and delivery assumptions and translate the findings into clear, finance-relevant insight.

Looking beyond the technical checklist

Our work covered the full lender diligence scope, including project design, technology selection, energy yield, grid connection, permitting, environmental and site conditions, contractual arrangements, revenue framework, construction planning and operational strategy.

We also reviewed the technical inputs to the financial model, ensuring that assumptions on costs, performance and revenues were considered in the context of the financing case.

The value of the work went beyond a standard technical review. Everoze identified, categorised and quantified key project risks, assessing their potential impact on programme, cost and energy production. This helped the lenders understand not only what the risks were, but how material they were and what could be done to mitigate them before financial close.

Practical insight for lender decision-making

Everoze provided clear recommendations for risk mitigation, helping the lenders focus on the issues most relevant to bankability. By combining technical depth with commercial judgement, the team helped turn detailed diligence findings into practical insight for lender decision-making.

The work was led by Ana Bamonde, supported by Christophe Campistron and a multidisciplinary Everoze team.

Eric Weemaels, Solar Technical Lead OX2 commented:

“Everoze managed to perform this Technical Due Diligence in a quick and efficient way, being very reactive to our comments and questions. The use of Live Diligence was a key enabler in achieving this result, allowing parallel work streams to be shared and reviewed by speciality or specific topic.”

Supporting bankable solar projects

Project Lion demonstrates Everoze’s ability to deliver rigorous technical due diligence while adding wider value through risk quantification, financial model review and practical mitigation advice.

For lenders, that means more than a purely technical report. It means a clearer view of project risk, stronger confidence in the financing case, and better-informed decisions ahead of financial close.
