We’re excited to be hiring a Principal Technical Due Diligence Advisor with a focus on the Australian onshore wind, solar and BESS sectors. The position would ideally be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane, however other locations will be considered on a case-by-case basis. You will be joining a growing and dynamic team which is already well established in the Australian renewables industry and has ambition to grow and expand in Asia Pacific. You will be supported by the wider international team in Everoze which is well established in Europe and which has been supporting the Australian team.
Salary: A competitive salary related to your experience, plus superannuation, annual profit share and a route into company ownership.
Deadline for applications: 20th June 2025
Location: Melbourne/Sydney/Brisbane or other office with some remote working
Hours: Normal office hours with a healthy level of flexibility. Preference for 5 days per week but will consider candidates who would prefer part-time with a minimum of 3 days per week.
What We offer:
We are employee-owned and offer a route into ownership for all new staff;
Real impact: We work with some of the biggest brands in the energy sector. We are regularly asked to share our thought leadership at the sector’s top conferences. You could be at the heart of conducting analysis which informs major investment and policy decisions.
Exposure: We work with clients ranging from multinational banks to international and local investors to community energy groups. You will be exposed to the wide range of projects financed and developed by these clients and you’ll work closely with them to address new challenges and opportunities at each turn.
A fast-growth environment: We set up shop with six partners in September 2015. Now we’re 80 strong and counting, based across the UK, France, Spain, Australia & Singapore. The Australian business was set up in 2023 and is now 8 strong and growing.
The flattest of flat organisations: Let’s be upfront – if you thrive on hierarchy and structure, Everoze isn’t the company for you. But if you are looking for a work environment where the strength of your ideas is valued as much as your years of experience, then welcome home. You’ll be given the freedom and autonomy to shape your own career; it’s not for everyone, and with freedom comes responsibility – but we sure enjoy the buzz of owning our own careers.
A flexible approach: We believe that a strong and healthy work life needs a strong a healthy home life. We encourage flexible working practices for all to be there for the kid’s swim lessons, a favourite hobby or learning new skills. Many of our partners work part time or adopt other flexible ways of working to achieve this balance within our self-managed structure.
The team works: Goodbye departmental silos! We get our offshore wind experts working on energy storage, our UK team working on French projects, our onshore wind specialists branching into solar. It keeps things fresh for us and more importantly, spurs the creative cross-fertilisation of ideas which helps us deliver unique insights and value to our clients.
Top-notch mentorship: Most of us at Everoze have been in the renewables and energy business for well over a decade, and some of us have previously led large teams and business units. We’d love to share some of this experience, through assigning you an internal mentor to help guide your professional development. And we hope that you can return the favour by offering feedback for us too, because whether you’ve got 3 months experience, or 30 years, we’ve all got more to learn.
No utilisation targets: Yes, that’s right! We don’t report on or check staff utilisation to assess team or individual performance. We operate on trust within the team. We find that happy and motivated staff can find the right balance between commercial work, business development and administration.
Fostering entrepreneurship: If you have a good idea for a new business area, we empower you to follow it. OK, lots of companies say that, right? Well, many of our staff are actively involved in new ventures which have led to creating new companies or lines of work. We’re serious about this and we have systems for selecting new opportunities and a budget for investing in them.
What you will be doing:
Your work will be mainly technical and commercial consultancy services to onshore wind, hybrid, solar and BESS projects. You will be advising developers, operators, lenders and investors in the Australian market as well as supporting our expansion into other markets in Asia Pacific. Specific activities will include:
- Leading technical and commercial due diligence for solar, BESS or onshore wind projects and portfolios – both as a project manager and in supporting roles. Specifically:
- Assessment of risks which could result in a deviation from the project or portfolio financial model, particularly lower energy yield, delays to the project timeline, higher CapEx and OpEx, and then to propose relevant mitigation measures
- Assessed areas would typically cover land securement, development approval, environmental constraints, project design, offtake arrangements, grid connection, construction and operation contracts, project timeline, etc.
- You may not be the SME on each of the topics but your ability to draw on the expertise of our peers and partners and be the ‘sense maker’ to bring it all together in a coherent and concise advice, is where you shine!
- Construction and operational monitoring such as Owner’s or Lender’s engineering work
- Bespoke owner’s engineer services
- Strategic development, procurement or operational advice
- Business development to build client relationships and win work
- Managing multiple projects with internal and external resources
- Ownership of budget and profitability of projects
- Contributing to administration of Everoze business functions
